Notes for providers, rod puppet workshop:

Running Time – ideally two and a half hours (can be done in two if necessary)

Number of workshops possible in one school day – 2

Maximum number of participants – single class

Ideal age of children – Year 1 to Year 6, younger children will need more adult help with following instructions. This workshop also is fabulous for children with extra support needs and their carers.

Set up time –30 minutes

Space required – classroom art room or hall. We require at least three large tables (or groups of tables) to put materials on. No chairs are required (it is ok if there are chairs there but we will ask children to sit on the floor while listening to instructions and they can work without chairs) We also need a table and at least two chairs near a plug socket for the glue guns.

Parent/staff help required – teaching staff must be present, additional help from parents or volunteers to man the glue guns is really brilliant as it greatly reduces waiting time for the children and allows more time for artistic creativity. Ideally at least two extra helpers, the more the merrier.

  • Two workshops - £200
